Exciting News

I would like to extend my apologies for the lack of posts in the last month, however the reason I have not been around is due to the fact I am 8 weeks pregnant with the WORST morning sickness Ive ever had! It has completely disabled me and Ive been hospitalized twice however as of right now I am starting to feel much better thanks to a new safe medication my doctor has prescribed me. I cannot tell you how horrible its been :(. I have so many things to review which I will be posting this coming week. Again im so sorry for the lack of posts and everything should be back to normal in the next few days.

Tarte For True Blood Limited Edition Palette

I bought this Palette from Sephora for $52.00 and let me tell you it was the best makeup purchase Ive made in a LONG time! I originally bought it for my love of HBOs True Blood and the fact I wanted to branch out to different eyeshadow brands (I have always been a die hard Urban Decay fan). The following photos were taken in both natural light and inside light to show differences:

The Palette is extremely high quality and looks like a black and red leather corset which completely evokes Pam from True Blood. It has a big mirror and a beautiful black design on the palette itself. A drawer pulls out which is lined in blood red velvet and contains the following with the True Blood branding on each item:

- 17 x 0.07 oz eye shadows
- 0.003 oz True Blood™ EmphasEYES Aqua-Gel Eyeliner in Black
- 0.1 oz True Blood™ Lights, Camera, Lashes! Mascara in Black
- 0.08 oz True Blood™ Lifted Natural Eye Prime

I have to say I totally love the aqua-gel liner, it goes on cool, blends super easily for a smokey eye or basically whatever type of look Im going for and lasts all day/night long. The Mascara is good because it doesn't clump at all (you only need 1 coat to do the trick) and also lasts a very long time. My favorite item has to be the eye primer, it goes on like silk, really does tighten the skin on my eyelids and makes the colors really pop, this one is also really long wearing because a few days ago I applied it under my shadows in the morning around 8AM and my shadow was STILL going strong at 11PM right before I removed it with my makeup remover.

The colors are drop dead gorgeous (pun intended). My favorites are "the True Death (bright metallic shimmery silver), V (sparkling crimson), Moss (a very shimmery/sparkly forest green), and Waitress which is very shimmery sparkly champaign. Actually who am I kidding ALL of the eye shadows are seriously breathtaking! Tarte also included a high quality card inside the package which shows you different ways to apply their makeup so I have to say I was 110% pleased with my purchase.

The set can be purchased with just the palette or along with the Limited Edition Cheek Stain (which I also purchased its imparts a very natural flushed look on cheeks so don't let the bright crimson red with sparkles fool you its SO worth it) and Lipsurgence Natural Lip Tint which also gives lips a just bitten natural glow.

This amazing palette can be purchased at:

Happy Button Soap Co.

The owner of Happy Button Soap Co. sent me two products to try out from her upcoming line:

Hand & Body Cream - Apple Butter Caramel: Warm rich apple butter and sticky caramel.

Foaming Sugar Scrub - County Fair: Sugary cotton candy, warm buttery funnel cake, and gooey caramel apples.

The texture of the hand and body cream is amazing, it has a generous amount of slip but sinks in extremely quickly leaving nothing but softness behind. Ive tried a LOT of lotions in the past and this is easily one of my favorites. Its perfect for hot humid days but also moisturizing enough for dry fall and winter days too.

The sugar scrub has a beautiful sky blue color topped with a dusting of shimmery silver turbinado sugar crystals along with pretty white very fine glitter - it looked amazing (I actually used half of my scrub up already I love it so much lol). The texture reminds me of cookie dough and balls up easily between my fingertips making application a cinch, the scrub also lathers up extremly well making an excellent medium for shaving. The scrub has the perfect amount of sugar throughout so its not too scrubby but at the same time polishes the skin gently to a smooth as silk finish.

Now to the scents:

Apple Butter Caramel: Now this is fall in a jar! Its a sweet warm scent that does smell exactly like apple butter blended with buttery old fashioned creamy caramel. The scent smells like heaven but at the same time its a light scent so it wont overwhelm if you are sensitive to most fragrances.

County Fair - You can really smell the sugary funnel cake in this one! actually I can totally smell all the different notes but funnel cake takes the stage. I honestly feel like im at the fair which brings back so many good memories for me. This is my fav scent!

Bath and Bodyworks Haul, New Halloween Preview Scent Sinful Vanilla

I placed a small order at Bath and Bodyworks online and saw Sinful Vanilla which is part of their new Halloween line (Im pretty sure the preview isnt available in stores yet). BBW has discontinued their Coconut Lime Verbena which wasn't one of my fav scents anyway because for me the verbena note just ruined it, but I

Sinful Vanilla: vanilla bean, whipped marshmallow and vanilla cream

Coconut Lime Breeze: Coconut water, lime blossom and bergamot inspired by a tropical breeze of exotic fruits and luscious citrus

Coconut Lime Breeze is REALLY nice, it does smell a lot like Coconut Lime Verbena but its not as harsh - The coconut isnt that strong in this blend but I do detect it, its a very natural coconut but lime is the dominant note here. This is going to be my new go to summer scent!  Its not overbearing and the packaging is beautiful.

Sinful Vanilla: All notes I totally LOVE, I was so excited to get this one but for now it only came in a travel size. Surprisingly its not overly sweet at all! It holds very close to the skin and I can smell the marshmallow, vanilla and cream. Its definitely the vanilla in the summer vanilla lines NOT the same vanilla in Vanilla Bean Noel. If you are expecting this to be VBN in new Halloween packaging you may be disappointed. It is a creamy - not overly sweet vanilla marshmallow scent which is really pretty. Unfortunately with all their lotions it has a pretty strong and distinct base smell that interferes with the actual fragrance. I am really hoping they decide to release some sprays and shower gel with this one.

Just today they released several new Halloween 3oz lotion previews!! They all look AMAZING however I think im going to wait and hope they release them in a body mist and shower gel (hopefully that happens).

Here are the notes:

Plum Potion: sweet plum, blood orange and black raspberry

Spider Cider: juicy red berries, mouthwatering lemon and black sugar

Black Candy Apple: juicy apple, caramelized sugar and irresistible vanilla

Wicked Spiced Pumpkin: white pumpkin, fresh ginger and whipped vanilla musk

I heard September is when BBW will release their entire collection and the fact they are going "all out" this year which makes me really happy. In the near future they will be releasing a gourmand collection, since they did away with the Temptations line I havnt purchased a lot from this company but hopefully this will change my mind!  I will post additional updates on the Halloween line as I obtain them.
